Benchmark Innovation Award 2016 Marks a Milestone
The finalists for the Benchmark Innovation Awards 2016 have now been announced, and Milestone XProtect Corporate 2016 is the winner for the Video Surveillance Software category.
One of the significant changes that Milestone Systems introduced in XProtect Corporate 2016 is to ensure that the software is 4K ready. While this might not sound remarkable – after all, many VMS providers claim to support 4K streams – XProtect Corporate 2016 delivers improvements that are significant when multiple streams are being managed. With optimisation and hardware decoding enabled, the processing levels fall away dramatically (we saw changes from around 90-95 per cent usage to 30-40 per cent).
It is also gratifying to see so many Milestone Solution Partners chosen as winners this year, for example: SICK and The Hawkeye Effect Laser Guardian, Optex Fiber SenSys, Siklu wireless, BCDVideo Aurora Servers, Paxton Access Control, Bosch and many more. See all of the Benchmark Innovation achievements summarized here.
Benchmark passionately believes that the future of the electronic security sector lies in the creation of innovative and flexible solutions which deliver real benefits. In order to allow installers and integrators to create such solutions, it is vital that manufacturers deliver innovations which both enhance the technological capabilities of their products, and allow those developments to be implemented in a realistic fashion.
In order to highlight such advances, Benchmark runs its Innovation Awards to recognize and reward innovative thinking and the delivery of benefits through advanced security solutions. As the first physical security industry media to test products, they have been following the progress of video management software (VMS) since its inception.
Milestone’s XProtect Corporate has always been a leading VMS solution, but the enhancements in the 2016 edition take it to a whole new level.
