Live Earth and Milestone Systems Launch Verified Single-Use Platform for Common Operational Picture

Live Earth has announced the release of a verified integrated solution with Milestone Systems, a world-leading provider of open platform IP video management software (VMS). The enhanced integration provides seamless access to live and recorded video within a common operational picture.

“Our partnership with Milestone and integration of Live Earth within their XProtect platform allows users to leverage the strengths of both systems, enabling faster response to situations as they develop,” said Craig Johnston, Live Earth’s VP of Business Development.

Live Earth is an advanced real-time data visualization platform, with an analysis engine that seamlessly fuses millions of disparate data sources from sensors and systems globally. Both Live Earth and Milestone integrate easily with a wide range of 3rd party applications, which highlights the innovations possible with open platform solutions.

The Live Earth and Milestone XProtect® solution is achieved with Live Earth’s cloud API and XProtect’s MIP SDK. It is ready to use with an out-of-the-box data package that gives users instant insights into traffic, transportation, and weather in correlation with their VMS. Users can easily enhance their live and recorded video by incorporating other GIS or static layers through advanced features and tools within the Live Earth platform. Data layers can be quickly turned on and off from a Live Layers panel to gain a better understanding of events.

The integrated, single-platform solution also provides real-time alerting and incident management so users ‘find out first’ when predefined scenarios occur within a single data source or when multiple data sources interact. They can immediately take action to respond from the incident management panel. Additionally, the interactive timeline allows users to quickly go back in time to view rendered data and video, to reconstruct historical and relevant events from different viewpoints for deeper comprehension.

“There are great benefits in seeing live video in the context of other real-time data feeds such as weather, traffic, and transportation, for more thorough understanding of the moving parts around their operations,” said Brad Eck, Community Program Owner at Milestone Systems, Inc. “System operators can evaluate data from different perspectives to unlock valuable information. Clicking into the Milestone VMS directly from Live Earth quickly identifies problems as they surface and helps resolve issues by analyzing recorded footage.”

The Live Earth and Milestone Systems collaboration successfully implements seamless access to live and recorded video across a wide variety of industries. The power of open platform solutions gives organizations and agencies the flexibility to grow their current technology systems and adopt new ones in the future.
